Walking out of the monastery,one passes a bridge,climbs Changshou Slope and steps into Yuxian Monastery . Yuxian means “coming across an immortal”. In Yuxian Monastery there was a well_known celebrity of the Han Dynasty whose name was Douyi once came across an immortal that rode a gragon flying up into the sky. Behind the monastery stand two upright stones; and the mountain path goes through the monastery,leading to an exceptionally unique cavern. Miraculously, fresh vegetables and fruits do not rot, even when stored for a long time in the cavern.Even dry or decayed vegetables and fruits turn green after one day of storage inside. Outside the monastery there is a
platform where one is able to view the surrounding scenery and have fun with wide monkeys.

 There are four Emei monkey communities,large or small, along the route between Qingyin Pavilion and Hongchun Monastery. Monkeys usually stand along the path,begging tourists for food. One of the main attractions on Mt.Emei is to have fun with monkeys as one tours the mountain. In Xixiang Poll section there are other groups of monkeys who are on intimate terms with human beings.
