Mt.Emei's Brief Introduction

Mt.Emei is characterized by its unique geological relief, biological soil and climate.Then ecological environment nurtures numerous kinds of plent nd animal species. The mountain is known as Kingdom of Plant and Paradies of Animals.The forest coverage on Mt.Emei is 87%. Five vegetation belts are defined according to verial zones. 1,500m below it is a subtropical evergreen broad_leaved forest; 2,800m above it is an evergreen and delicious broad_leaved mised forest, a coniferous and broad_leaved mixed forest , a sub alpine coniferous forest and sub alpine shrubs. There are 3,200 verfied species on Mt.Emei,which is one of our nation.

Mt.Emei is inhabited by over 2,300 species of animals,of which 29spoecies are listed under the state protetion. The animal species comprises 51 mammals,256 birds ,34 reptiles,33 amphibians, 60 fishes,42 oligochaetes and over 1,000 insect species. Above all,Mt.Emei is famous for its miraculous power and wonderous beauty.
